Winterization Tips

Drain all holding tanks and leave valves open
Fill fuel tank
Pour environmentally safe anti-freeze in toilets and sinks to flush water out of pipes
Unhook main water service at pump outlet
Remove drain plug from hot water tank to prevent cracks from freezing water
Shut off ALL GAS APPLIANCES and pilot lights
Shut off propane tank and make sure it is tightly closed
Close all windows and vents tightly, cover roof vents and air conditioners to keep water and dust out
Lower blinds and close curtains to protect interior against sun damage
Clean refrigerator – leave door open to prevent the growth of mold from moisture that collects inside
Remove all food, even canned and boxed foods as canned food can freeze and burst and boxed foods will attract rodents
Disconnect batteries
Remove all valuables and electronic devices not bolted down
Lock all doors and storage compartments
Make sure all tarps and covers are secure as high winds are prevalent in the winter months
Cover tires to prevent dry rot from exposure to the elements
